Marissa Michael is a 3rd year medical student at Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC). She graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University in 2018, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Dance. She worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Department of Neurological Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine for 3 years before starting medical school.
Marissa has been a member of the PrIMES Leadership Team since 2019 and helped kickstart its pilot year curriculum. She is from the Caribbean nation of Antigua and is passionate about educational equity. She has volunteered with several organizations aimed at mentoring and tutoring underserved students, such as Kids2College and Let’s Get Ready in Massachusetts, and the Mexican American Students’ Alliance (MASA) and Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program (HPREP) in NYC. She is also involved in the Weill Cornell Center for Human Rights (WCCHR) and Pre-Op, the surgical interest group at WCMC.
