Benjamin Hartley, MD, MS

Dr. Benjamin Rush Hartley received his medical degree in 2015 from the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Gold Foundation Humanism Honor Society and was awarded the Downstate Alumni Association Research Fellowship, multiple American Anatomy Association Research Travel Grants, the Downstate Excellence in Neuroscience Award, and the Clinical Neuroscience Pathway Award.
He completed neurosurgical residency at Weill Cornell Medicine and Memorial Sloan Kettering and went on to complete a fellowship in neurological oncology at Northshore University Hospital/Northwell Health. Dr. Hartley is a neurosurgeon at Jamacia Hospital Medical Center.
Prior to medical school, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology from the University of Oregon and a Master’s degree in Biology Education from Fordham University. He has also served with the Teach for America Corps as a science teacher in an under-served community in New York City prior to medical school.
